The court finder gives Truro Combined Court's address as Edward Street, Truro TR1 2PB, and lists childcare arrangements after separation, divorce hearings, domestic abuse and adoption among its work[4]. It also says Bodmin Law Courts is no longer in service[4].

Most parents start a children case online or on Form C100[10]; HMCTS advises applying online to avoid delay and sends paper forms to the designated family centre for the child's area[11]. Cornwall is long: use video

A MIAM does not have to be in a room: the FMC allows video, and telephone only when nothing else is possible[3]. Online MIAMs come with extra safeguards, such as checking you have privacy and will not be disturbed[13]. The register's "offers online mediation" filter shows who works this way[1]. 04/ If you cannot get there

No mediator nearby and no video

An access exemption covers an applicant who cannot attend online or by video-link and has no authorised mediator with an office within 15 miles of home; you explain why on the form[14]. Another covers the case where every such mediator nearby has said they cannot see you within 15 business days, and then you give the court their names and the dates you contacted them[14]. Legal aid and the voucher

You pay nothing for a MIAM if either of you is eligible for legal aid; where only one of you is, both MIAMs and the first mediation session are covered[16]. The online legal aid checker asks about income and savings[17], and the register can filter for legal aid mediators[1].

In children cases the Family Mediation Voucher Scheme can pay up to £500 towards mediation sessions, but not the MIAM[6][18]. Read about the voucher scheme.

Cornwall Council workshops for separated parents

Cornwall Council runs free Supporting Healthy Relationships workshops, one two-hour session a week over three weeks[19]. Getting it Right for Children is the one for separating or separated parents, and each parent books a different date; the courses are also available to work through on your own[19].
